You can never teach an old dog new tricks?

That’s how the saying goes anyway, but I find myself wondering if “The Old Dogs” themselves came up with that phrase just so they don’t have to learn new skills.

I find myself in a situation where I don’t feel or think I'm old but on the grand scale of things, I'm slowly edging towards that title.

Slowly because my knees aren't what they once were, but I find learning new skills a pleasure not a chore, as of right now I’m teaching myself to prototype an app I've been pondering in my head for a while.

Yes thats right, you don't have to be 12 to want to develop an app!

And yes, although I’m on the very wrong side of 30 I relish the challenge of learning new technical skills. Yes It can be frustrating and sometimes infuriating but the payoff (in my opinion) is well worth it.

So perhaps next time the phrase is uttered either about you or someone else, think to yourself this (almost) old dog still has some skills!
