Don't Panic???

With the new year starting with a cold and Icy blast, we all make promises with good intentions to start doing more, being more active, losing weight and many more things besides!

I too have made several of these promises to myself and one of which is to make time to start writing my weekly blog on my website. This is one I intend to keep up as I feel this blog could be useful as a tool for me to get my feelings, concerns, victories and failures out of my head and onto the “proverbial” page.

This blog is also designed to help people like myself starting out in my own business combining all of my passions into one business.

A wise person once said, do what you enjoy and you’ll never work a day in your life.

So here goes, It is the beginning of January and for self employed people it is a busy time as it is the dreaded self assessment tax return month.

I have never done one of these before and although millions of people do it every year I find myself having blind panic attacks about it. I have kept all my records of the last 6 months that I have been in business but still find for no apparent reason that I am as nervous as anything about doing it.

I don’t know about you my fellow self employed people but I find the process of new things, and very important ones very nerve racking! It’s the fear of what will happen if I mess up, the use of the government's language that the layman doesn’t understand all that well, the blind panic that if I mess up it could cost me money…

All of those things flying through my head for the last month has meant many sleepless nights and cold sweats at the thought of completing it.

But still it is a necessary evil that must be done so wish me luck and I hope hearing that I have doubts and fears about doing it shows that you are not the only person and you’re not alone!
